What Is The Best Hair Color Remover For Black Hair?
What’s the best way to inexpensively fix black-dyed hair?
My hair is naturally a very dark brown but it gets lightened and brassy over the summer so every fall I dye it back to a dark brown. This year I decided to try going a little darker and bought a “soft natural black” and it turned my hair an awful cold black! Unfortunately I thought it would be easily solved by buying a box of warm brown dye but, alas, it only made it darker (it didn’t think it was possible). So now my hair has been dyed twice in a short period of time and it’s way too dark for me. I can’t afford a trip to the salon and I know there are hair dye removal products out there but I want to avoid damaging my hair any further and what I really want is to just soften and warm the color, so it’s more of a really dark brown instead of the blue-black it is now…
Is there any “no damage” way to do this? Or if I do have to resort to the hair color removers, does anyone have some advice about which works better, is less damaging, etc? I’ve heard of L’Oreal’s product as well as Color Oops and Color Fix. In the meantime I’m doing deep conditioning treatments regularly.
They should really put big bold warning labels on black hair dye boxes!!!
I’ve done this myself. I used Paul Mitchell’s Shampoo Two. Just shampoo with your hair once or twice or until you get to the desired shade. After that, use a color shampoo on your hair. Only shampoo 2-3 times a week.
Best way to dye black hair back brown? HELP!?
Okay so I’ve been dying my hair black for about 7 months now and want to go back to a medium/dark brown (like the colour of number 2 extensions).
I’ve used colour b4 (hair dye remover) when i wanted to take the black out and then re-dyed it brown but it just came out black again.
Would it work if I was to just dyed my hair light brown and then put a darker brown on top of it? (remembering i still have black dye in my hair)
Also i don’t want to go to the hairdressers as it’s too expensive!
If you put color remover in your hair it may tend to kill the cells in your hair which makes them die and frizz up. Wait until your hair fades then try dying it. Hair stylest would probably be the best because they know what they are doing and they have the right tools to do each step. Just ask around for hairstylest that will do it. Some will do it for cheap.
Dying Dark Brown/Black Hair Chestnut Brown ?
After asking what hair colour would best suit me (see below) I have decided to dye my tri-coloured mess of dark brown, black and dark auburn chestnut brown.
At the moment I am considering using Colour Oops or a different gentle colour remover first then dying over it with chestnut brown. Has anyone tried this and/or is it a good idea?
I’m not willing to do to a salon.
Also do you think this will be a good colour for me?
I was a golden blonde child whose hair changed to golden brown during my mid teens so I died it black then auburn.
At this moment in time (I’m 19) it is rather tri-coloured due to the fact that it has been dyed so very often.
My roots are growing through rather dark.
I have a very pale complexion with yellow undertones, unfortunately at time it is prone to going uneven with reddy pink undertones (both at the same time annoyingly).
I have strange eyes that change from dark brown to hazel green depending on my mood.
My clothing style is quite old fashioned and I spend a great deal of time around horses and playing traditional sports.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Most of the black has faded.
Do not do this yourself.
Stripping your hair yourself is really difficult to get right,
when you do that your hair will be a yellowish colour, but when you add brown dye to this it will go green, i don’t know why, it just does.
Hold out for a couple of weeks, save up some money get it done professionally, you may as well, because if you do a diy job you’ll probably have to get them to fix it anyway.
How do i get the black out of my hair!?
I’ve been dyeing my hair black for about a year with cheap store hair dye
But now i want to go really light brown.
I tried myHD color remover but it didn’t budge! and only gave me light regrowth
and i also tried a hair stripper from Priceline which did the same thing.
and i have also tried using lemon juice as a bleach?
nothing has worked
will bleaching my hair then putting the light brown color in afterwards work?
or would i be best off just going to a hairdressers?
my hair is naturally dark brown btw
If doing what u said with the bleaching and whatnot doesn’t work go to a salon
DARK HAIR HELP – ASAP (i will love you forever)?
First off – I really cannot go to a prof. I have $30 to my name and the drugstore is my only option (pathetic i know)
My hair is naturally a medium-ish tinted brown, but last year i had it highlighted, then when my roots started to come in i died it back to a medium brown, which then still left light streaks everywhere.
I now died it dark brown and it came out black.
I look like i have a wig on (no exageration) and VERY spotty best at-home hair bleaches/color removers that have worked out the best for you??**Should I bleach – then use a medium brown?
I just answered pretty much the same questioned for another girl on here….here’s my suggestion:
“Loreal Color Zap gently washes away all permanent haircolor. Ideal for color correction, removal of dark shades, muddy, uneven results or color build up. Leaves hair ready for immediate re-coloring. Loreal Effasol Color Remover washes away permanent haircolor, leaving hair ready for recoloring. Can be used with water or developer.”
I read somewhere else where a girl had the same problem as you and she used a similar product to the Color Zap and she said that it lightened her hair so that she could dye it the lighter color that she wanted.
I hope it works out for you! I’ll cross my fingers. Good luck sweetie!
EXTREMELY damaged hair, help please?
Prepare yourself for a long story…lol. (;
Okay so, I’m in a bit of a predicament and ready to give up.
I’ve been dying my hair black for about a year now, and my Dad pressured me into changing it. ( which I am livid with him about)
So I “went to a professional” to get it bleached, which is something I highly regret and will probably never go to a salon for anything other than a hair cut again.
I wanted to lift and tone my hair to a brown, but instead my hair dresser took me all the way to blonde by bleaching my hair twice. (I’m not sure if it’s standard procedure to go all the way blonde first or whatever though, so…)
I really started to question whether she knew what she was doing or not though after she dyed my hair with a demi-permanent dye and rinsed my hair saying, “Oh, your hair feels so nice” when it felt like elastic.
After that she blow dryed my hair ( which she told me was NOT good for my hair) and had to trim off over half of my length, but it was still so dry that you couldn’t put your fingers through it…and she tugged so hard on it with that round brush I thought my scalp was gonna come off and it was sore for two days.
Anyway, I really didn’t like the color she put on my hair but I just wanted to get out of there so I thanked her and left asap…and then about three days later (I know, I’m stupid for this) I used a color remover on my hair, which didn’t work very well.
Anyway, now whenever my hair‘s wet it feels like thin elastic and when it’s dry it’s so unruly that like I said, I can’t run my fingers through it at all, and it’s almost impossible to comb. The ends are also so split and I’ve got splits going all the way up my hair shaft to my scalp.
I’m getting kind of tired though, I’ve tried so many “reconstructors” and deep conditioners and nothing’s worked at all…the only thing I haven’t tried is a protein packet.
But the truth of the matter is, I really can’t afford to spend any more money on my hair.
Even though it seems kinda silly, I’m really depressed about it, and I’m wondering if the best course of action I can take now is to just shave my head and wear a wig until it grows out again or something.
I don’t know.
Is there any way it ccan be repaired, or should I just get rid of it all?
Thank you <3
Also, if you’re going to recommend that I trim my hair until it’s better, I’ve had three MAJOR “trims” since this and I only have about six inches of hair left, which is why I asked if I should just shave my head… :/
Yes I’ve tried the 3 minute miracle…if you can name it I’ve probably tried it, excluding protein packs. That’s why I’m so broke now. lol. (;
Shave it all off and start over ):
