How to Remove Semi Permanent Hair Color Fast?
Can anyone tell me how to remove or fade semi permanent hair color?
I have naturally red hair, and I had the bright idea to let one of my friends attempt to put semi permanent cherry red highlights in it. Needless to say the outcome was more then a little heinous. I tried the Prell thing, washing with really hot water, it only faded the color a little. Is there anything else I can do to either remove it completely or fade it faster? I really don’t want to use a color correcter, for fear of what another chemical will do to my hair! Thanks for ANY answers.
I have had bad hair color before and I suggest you wash it ALOT. Prell is like floor cleaner and will damage your hair. Maybe try a clarifying shampoo ( they help remove built up products and won’t strip your hair like prell) couple times each day with a good conditioner so you don’t over dry it. If that won’t work (may take a few weeks!) and you don’t want corrective color done (it can be $$$) you may just have to wait it out.
How do you remove semi-permanent hair dye? How do you dye over semi-perm. hair dye?
I have my hair red (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3079/3111141022_b35a3aa2c7.jpg?v=1229366257 , http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3195/3284559572_6650a5a264.jpg?v=0), but it’s fading and I want to go back to my natural hair color; dark brown. I’ve tried this before, but it turned a deep brownish burgundy/purple and back to a light purplish gray. So.. I redid the red. But my hair is growing fast and the red dye is too expensive (13 a bottle) to keep up with this hair color. One bottle isn’t gonna cut it anymore.. How do I get this crap out so that I can dye my hair back to dark brown, and keep it brown?
Yeah it never stops washing out. Even after a little over a month, when I was my hair, it washes out a deep pink..
I had my hair a blueish green color when I was in junior high. There was never any problems dying over that of course. I wonder what dying over it with black would do?….
And even if it washes out after 48 washes, it’s not going to magically turn brown. I had my hair blonde, then “permanent” burgundy which faded after two days, then red. It’s going to fade and look like SH*T
Funny thing about red hair dye, even the semi-permanent stuff is really hard to get out or dye over. I dyed mine red at 16 with semi permanent stuff and had to go have a hairdresser dye over it to get the red coloured residue out of my hair.
You may have to have the colour stripped out of your hair to be able to dye it back to the original colour.
Removing Semi Permanent hair dye?
Or at least making it fade faster, the color I have right now is really dark.I was looking online and a couple of places said that white Vinegar can help it fade.Does it work?
You can do one of two things, to remove most of that dye. Links have been moved, might have to type them out.
1. By using Tide detergent with shampoo
2. By shampooing you hair mix with a bit of Dawn.
Here’s an example what hair stripping will do to your hair.
It is worst than hair dyes. “I accidentally dyed my hair this awful black, stripped it, and now it is this crunchy crispy mess!”
Hair strippers are chemical treatments which are intended to strip out artificial color pigment with less risk or damage to the hair. The chemicals used are called reducing agents.
Certain ‘metal’ strippers containing sodium sulphoites are sold for reducing hair dyed with metallic dyes, as these dyes react violently with tint stripper containing hydrogen peroxide-the subsequent reaction may cause so much heat that the hair gets dissolved.
Google hair dyes & cancer also. There are those who tan & smoke all their lives & do not get cancer, but there are those 2nd hand & 3rd hand smoke who do and are currently on oxygen because they can’t breath or have cancer. Same with hair dyes.
Here’s a new article I found re: henna, which is supposed to be better for you than reg. Box dye. It’s a good read!
Example of one who’s hair is falling and stopped growing:
“my hair had been bleached many times and can’t grow past a certain length
its also falling out . I stopped bleaching it.
I just need to add lenght! But if i can stop it from falling out..that be great too”
I know hair. I have over 4 decades of hair know-how. I have silky, shiny, soft, smooth very healthy hair down to my knees. Previously damaged by perming & dyeing in the 80′s & 90′s. I’ve known people in their 30′s whose hair stopped growing from ironing their hair in the 70′s.
removing my semi permanent dye?
I really liked it at first & I’ve dyed it twice the same colour (which was red) my natural hair colour is a light-medium brown & I actually love it. I really want my natural hair colour back. I don’t want to harm my hair, I just want to know how I can get it back to my natural colour & which is the fastest, best way to do so.
thank you for your help.
Your going to have to go pick up a brown shade that has the word ASH in it,(this depends on how dark the red was,if the red was light, get light ash brown,if the red was medium, get medium ash brown, ect),you need an “ash” shade to counteract the red,and give you straight brown again.
The color on the box may not look “nice”,but again that’s not the color you will end up with, the ash will just cancel-out the red(fight it so to speak).
If your worried about damage, make sure you buy a NO PEROXIDE/NO AMONIA FORMULA(this is also only semi-permanate),something like Natural Instincts/loving Care, or the like.
Removing Semi Permanent Dye?
I have my hair dyed purple but it won’t fade fast enough. I’m trying to not use bleach until I have to, any other good tricks to get it out?
My hairs not in the best condition, so I’m trying to go for something that won’t damage it too badly (also why I’m trying to not use bleach until last resort)
I’m wanting to redye it a different color in about a week, so something that works fast is better.
I’ve had it died for almost three months and I wash my hair once a day. My ends are white, but the rest of my bangs are purpleish magenta. So I need something to get that out. I dye my hair a lot, just this is the first time I’ve ever used a red based by sfx, it lasts FOREVER. lol
I’m a frequent user of manic panic, right now I’ve been using vampire red, but my hair isn’t blonde, it’s more of a peachy color, and cheap soap seems to always do the trick especially dandruff shampoo after washing my hair twice it dye is almost always gone.
Just continue to wash it out until it’s completely gone; semi permanent dye bonds to hair instead of penetrating the cuticle, or washing it out is the only way it’s going to come out.
Also, you hair is more than likely going to come out out looking a little grayish when it’s washed out.
Semi permanent hair dye stained my hair. How do I remove it?
About 3 months ago I dyed my light brown hair with a Loreal Casting Creme Gloss (semi-permanent) in darkest brown. 3 months and more than 50 washes later, it appears my hair has been stained by the semi-permanent hair colour. While the colour has definitely got much lighter since I did it, it is still much darker than my natural hair colour and I am getting light brown regrowth, because the colour is not coming out as fast as my hair is growing.
On the box, it said the colour would only last for a max of 30 washes, but this does not appear to be the case. When I dyed my hair dark brown using the Loreal Casting Creme Gloss it came out after about a month and a half, but the darkest brown colour will not.
Is there anyway I can remove this hair colour that was meant to be semi permanent? I want my natural hair colour back!!!
Actually it was about 4 to 5 months ago that I dyed it, not 3.
Yo could try using lemon juice it will lighten the dye on your hair or the easiest way would probably be just to go to a salon and have a hair stylist dye it your natural Color and when it grows out it won’t be noticeable because its your hair color
